  • The model proposed in this paper allows to obtain calculations at different temperatures, pH and substrate concentration by employing pseudo-kinetic parameters.

  • It was removed the dependence weight factor affecting the xylose consumption, which initially had a physical significance, because it was used as a correction factor.

  • The model presented in this work, presents lower deviations than other models reported in the literature, when compared against the experimental data.

  • The model can be used for the development of an optimization algorithm for the production of ethanol.

  • The model is simple and solution employs measurements easy to obtaining.
